The board helps guide our vision, support fundraising efforts, and connect us with opportunities that deepen our impact in the community.

Treasurer Needed – Join Our Board of Directors
ICE Studios School of Dance is seeking a committed and community-minded Treasurer to serve on our Board of Directors. This volunteer leadership role is essential in helping us maintain financial health and grow our mission of empowering youth through dance and the performing arts.
What We’re Looking For:

Someone with a background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping

Strong organizational and communication skills

A heart for youth, the arts, and community service

Willingness to attend monthly board meetings and provide financial oversight
Role Overview:
The Treasurer will oversee financial reporting, collaborate with board members on budgeting and fundraising, and ensure transparency and accountability in our financial practices.

The bylaws of ICE Studios School of Dance outline the official rules that guide how our organization is governed. They define the structure, responsibilities, and procedures for our board of directors, including terms, meetings, voting rights, officer roles, and ethical standards. These bylaws help ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with our mission as a youth-focused nonprofit arts organization.
This document outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and commitments for serving on the ICE Studios School of Dance Board of Directors. It includes attendance requirements, ambassador duties, financial support options (monetary, in-kind, or service), and a signature section to confirm your one-year commitment.
Purpose: To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of ICE STUDIOS SCHOOL OF DANCE so as to support the organization’s mission and needs.
Our Commitment
Board members serve a 1-year term (renewable) and agree to:
• Attend at least 4 out of 5 quarterly meetings
• (August, December, March, June, and the following August)
• Serve on a committee (e.g., fundraising, recital planning, volunteer support)
• Support at least four events or fundraisers throughout the year
• Actively promote ICE Studios as a community ambassador
• Make a personal annual investment (monetary, in-kind, or service trade)
ICE STUDIOS Program Events
Annual Events: Spring Recital-Summer Dance & Showcases-
ICE’s annual dance productions are part of our students dance education, and they show to the public the benefits achieved from their dance training.
Dance Classes-
ICE Studio School of Dance offer exceptional training in ballet, jazz, tap, Acrobatic/Tumbling, Gymnastics, Contemporary Dance and hip-hop classes. We have implemented a carefully structured progression of class levels based on age and developmental capabilities, including muscle development, strength and coordination, technique, and performance quality. Ages 3 to 18
Community Performances -
Community dance productions are part of our students dance education, and they show to the public the benefits achieved from their dance training. Students performing in our community events learn cooperation and stage presence, overcome shyness, and project and express their individual personality. 2017-2018 (50) youth, in 2019-2020 (77) youth showcasing their accomplishments @ ARTSKC Banquet 2020 (6 )youth, Kauffman Future Stages Virtual Show Banquet 2020 (50 youth), Drill Team competition halftime 2020 (6 )
Internship-
Student teaching assistants commit to helping the headteacher in the classroom throughout the dance season. They will work alongside the head teacher in instructing students, offering corrections and encouragement, learning choreography, and becoming an integral part of the class. Student Office Interns commit to helping the Administrator and Director of ICE STUDIOS during office hours, at the front desk, and at studio events. We are excited about this program in order to encourage and support our classes with the enthusiasm of students interested in the dynamics of becoming a good dance educator and are willing to volunteer their time in our work-study assisting/intern program.
Health and Nutrient program-
Free family fitness classes and free healthy snacks will be offered on-site, and nutritional lessons for all students will educate them on how to be healthy, which is required to succeed with a dance career.
Outreach program Afterschool Dance Programs-
Offering classes to youth ages 5 to 18 in an in-school or after-school setting. Classes for Our classes foster structured and supportive interactions with classmates, give practice in problem solving, and build academic as well as artistic skills. Additionally, the class highlights the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and positive group interactions through group and partner work. Students who participate in the dance program will have the opportunity to perform in an informal presentation showcasing the knowledge gained during the classes for their peers, teachers, family, and the greater community.
Competition Dance Team-
It is the mission of the Ice Studios Competitive and Recreational Dance Team to offer age-appropriate, healthy, and positive competitive/performance opportunities for dancers seeking personal and professional growth within the art and sport of dance.
